Tasks

Interview inmates to assess adjustment problems Interview offenders to prepare pre-sentence reports Prepare reports or case histories Administrative and office activities Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services Assess offenders' prospects for successful reintegration into the community Perform administrative tasks Prepare classification reports recommending type of incarceration and types of interventions for rehabilitation Refer offenders to community and social services programs Liaise with the inmates' families and contacts in the community Advise and counsel inmates regarding their problems Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs Conduct follow-up assessments Evaluate offenders' progress Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community Housekeeping activities Food preparation Resolve conflict situations Conduct individual and group counselling sessions Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research Screen, recruit and train volunteers and support staff Assist clients/guests with special needs Accompany clients to appointments and social outings Manage events Offer mentoring Supervise office and volunteer staff
