Community Support Worker -Case Management (RW)Edmonton, AB, Canada Req #188Wednesday, May 8, 2024Catholic Social Services is currently seeking Casual Immigration Community Support Workers in EDMONTON to join our Immigration and Settlement Services team. This is a casual / on-call position with no guaranteed hours. Providing excellent client-centered care, you are confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting others in your community!Program Overview:Immigration and Settlement Services provides quality services to newcomers to Canada; helping them to understand their rights and responsibilities.Job Summary:As a Community Support Worker, you will work closely within a team to support a smooth transition into Canada for our newcomers. In consultation and with guidance from the Settlement Counsellors and Program Coordinator, you will provide interpretation services to clients in their own language. You will interpret for them in orientation sessions and at various appointments. You will also teach life skills and provide hands-on learning with the aim of assisting newcomers master the skills necessary to live successfully in Canada.Education and Qualifications:

• Your Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent, along with your training or experience working with newcomers and providing interpretation services make you an ideal candidate for this on call position.
• Skills in Microsoft office, administrative assistance, and housekeeping are also required.
• Experience working with newcomers to Canada is considered an asset
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search, and Intervention Record Check current within six (6) months
