Job Overview:

We're hiring a

Carpenter Helper

who can support our cabinetmakers and installers both in the

workshop

and on

job sites

. You'll handle tools with confidence, follow directions precisely, and take pride in a tidy, safe work area. This is a physically active role with clear pathways to advance (Helper ? Junior Installer ? Installer).

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with cutting, assembly, fitting, and installation of custom cabinets (shop + site). Operate common

hand & power tools

(drill/impact, circular/miter saws, nailers, multi-tool) and measuring tools (tape, square, level). Move/handle materials and finished units (moderate to heavy lifting; typically 25-40 kg with a second person). Prepare job sites: surface protection, layout, shimming, basic scribing, tool staging. Maintain tool condition and shop/site organization; uphold safety and housekeeping standards. Drive between shop and job sites as needed.

Must-Have Qualifications:

6+ months

hands-on experience as a Carpenter Helper or related woodworking/carpentry role. Proven tool familiarity and safe operation (hand & power tools). Strong

listening skills

, reliability, and real

motivation to learn

and improve. Physical ability for lifting, carrying, standing, and ladder work. Safety-first mindset (PPE, procedures).

Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Nice to Have (Assets):

Experience with cabinet installation, trim/finish, hardware install (hinges, slides). Familiarity with cabinet components (boxes, fillers, crown, scribe) and basic millwork. Ability to read simple

shop drawings

and use a

laser level

.

Ontario G driver's licence

and comfort driving across the GTA. Professional conduct in

occupied homes

(cleanliness, communication, respect).

Schedule:

Monday-Friday,

8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Occasional overtime/weekends with overtime pay per ESA. Start date:

Compensation & Benefits

$18-$25/hr

depending on skills/experience.

Paid overtime

and stat holidays per Ontario ESA. Vacation pay per ESA. Tools provided in the shop; initial

PPE

provided.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.20-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
