Northland Properties' Construction & Design Team is looking for a Carpenter Helper for its renovation projects with Sandman Hotel Group in Calgary

Reporting to the foreman, our carpenter's helper will provide general support to Carpenters and other site staff, ensuring all work is completed in compliance with relevant safety regulations and company policies. Effective communication with supervisors and team members is essential to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency. Your key duties will include:

Assist Carpenters with measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. Support with the installation, maintenance, and repair of structures such as walls, roofs, foundations, and columns. Carry out general labour duties, including site cleaning, receiving deliveries, moving and assembling materials and furniture, and maintaining work areas. Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and finish wood and other materials safely and effectively. Follow project specifications, timelines, and safety standards under the guidance of Carpenters and site supervisors. Support the growth and development of company culture. Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:



2 years of working experience in similar roles Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 8-10 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms Must be able to climb scaffoldings.

Adheres to project specifications and timelines ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Work in conjunction with crew members to complete field projects or tasks. Displays high levels of motivation, energy, and forward-thinking. Listens attentively and follows instructions carefully.
