As an Emergency Protection Order (EPO) Coordinator, you will monitor all EPOs received by the Calgary Police Service (CPS) and follow up on all procedural steps to ensure officers, external stakeholders and EPO applicants have the correct information to ensure the safety of others. Primary duties will include:
Review and track EPOs and Queen's Bench Orders by confirming authorizations, creating tracking files and ensuring the orders have been dispatched for service.
Communicate, educate and liaise with external stakeholders, victims and officers to explain type, purpose and alternate means of protection orders.
Flag issues between CPS and the courts to ensure all documentation supports victim information and follows policies.
Use various CPS and police data systems (for example: Offender Records and Correctional Administration (ORCA), LiveLink, Justice Online Information Network (JOIN), Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), Palantir, and social media) to locate offenders and monitor calls using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Sentry to ensure service is completed.
