As an Information Coordinator you ensure that critical information is available, organized and efficiently distributed to facilitate quick, informed decision making in a fast-paced operational environment. You are the primary point of contact for all individuals interacting with the Real Time Operations Centre (RTOC) and are responsible for monitoring, evaluating and assisting in prioritizing responses to incidents of crime or disorder occurring within the City. You will provide support to the RTOC Duty Inspector, sworn personnel and will assist investigators and analysts in identifying notable incidents and offenders. Primary duties include:
Collect, organize and interpret crime related information from a wide variety of sources/databases including open-source intelligence (OSINT) to complete backgrounds on subjects of interest, targets and victims.
Respond to information requests from internal and external partners, walk-ins, email, telephone, radio or Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD).
Assist with updating and sharing information that pertains to crime and intelligence analysis including matrices, bulletins and incident reports.
Monitor, document, and conduct maintenance for Special Interest Police (SIP), Surveillance and Crime inquiries and requests through the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC).
Document and maintain information in the RTOC Activity log/notebook.
Monitor events in real time and provide support to internal and external law enforcement personnel.
