As the Supervisor, Police Information Check Unit (PICU), you are responsible for ensuring operational efficiencies, budgeting and overseeing daily operations, while providing leadership and management for PICU. You are also responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies and procedures, including setting strategic goals and objectives that align with both the Service's and Section's broader priorities. Primary responsibilities will include:
Lead staff performance and development, including recruitment, evaluations, and resource allocation.
Develop and manage, capital and operating budgets, participate in business planning, oversee and manage resources within PICU.
Manage the budget in support of operational goals and the Service's budget cycle.
Ensure policies align with the police information check processes and operations are consistent with the Calgary Police Service (CPS) organizational goals.
Establish performance standards and workload indicators to maintain a high level of service.
Participate in Business Operations Section (BOS) meetings, discussing strategic issues and assignment of staffing resources to support initiatives and decisions.
Provide regular updates to Section leadership on the status of initiatives, including progress on scope, cost, schedule, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Lead the unit through organizational change and implement new initiatives for changes to processes affected by legislation.
