WOW catering is hiring a Cook for Boreal Bistro at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights
We are passionate about offering delicious and creative lunch options , exceptional coffees and adding our touch of great taste to the already spectacular galleries.

Casual/Part time positions available
Tuesday to Sunday
9:00 am - 4:30 pm- possible hours

Occasional weekend or weekday evenings for internal events may be required.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

- Weekdays and weekend days. some holiday days required
- This position will require baking, food preparation and cooking
-Creating specials in a creative and cost efficient manner
-Ordering, maintaining and and tracking inventory

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

- Must be reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
- Preparing food for service in appropriate quantities
- Excellent communication skills to ensure harmonious service
- Answer, report to and follow managements direction
- Clean up station and kitchen at the end of day
- Ensure all food items are appropriately wrapped and refrigerated according to food safety guidelines.
- Stock inventory appropriately, put away incoming orders using proper rotation
- Comply with food safety and sanitation regulations as well as company work safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests
- Other duties as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

:
- Must be available for daytime shifts weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
- 1+ years of relevant restaurant experience required
- Professional culinary training a major asset
- Excellent guest-oriented approach and patience
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- High attention to cleanliness and safety
- Must speak English fluently and live in Winnipeg area
- Must be able to independently lift 50 lbs.
- Must hold valid food handlers certificate or be able to obtain before start date

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
