Our Client, one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico has an immediate need for a Business / Technical Centre Cost and Performance Analyst. This is a contract position for twenty-two (22) months located in Calgary, Alberta.

Description:

A Technical Centre Cost and Performance Analyst will join a team responsible for portfolio performance, analytics and reporting for the Technical Centre organization to maintain accountability to our financial and non-financial targets.

Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to a team of Analysts tasked with delivering on budget and reporting requirements
  • Evaluate performance metrics against plan and highlight areas for the leadership team to focus on
  • Collaborate on centralized reporting tools and processes increasing Technical Centre performance transparency and ensuring costs are tracking to plan
  • Create a centralized reporting function for the Technical Centre to drive increased visibility
  • Work in collaboration with stakeholders and leadership to refine key performance indicators and metrics
  • Interface and coordinate between multiple stakeholder teams throughout the company to ensure alignment between Technical Centre and Functional Areas and Business Units
  • Communicate quarterly and monthly cost/performance reporting
  • Coordinate the overall Technical Centre budget process including consolidation, analysis, variances, presentations, and on-going budget management
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders understanding customers' needs to develop suitable innovative solutions
  • Be a visible role model of a high-performing, continuous improvement culture and mindset
Required
  • Minimum 6+ years of commercial, accounting, project management or related experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics or related field
  • An alternative combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, project management skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, people management skills and financial acumen
  • Ability to provide structure, organization, and navigate complex and ambiguous business problems
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of information into succinct and digestible portions
  • Ability to analyze the activities and efforts in various parts of the organization, and draw insights, connections,
  • and interdependencies to improve plans within the Technical Centre
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of corporate accounting systems and practices
  • Strong ability to analyze and create effective customer solutions
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to participate effectively in a fast paced, dynamic changing environment
  • Demonstrated skills in working in ambiguous situations
  • Proficient in PowerBI and MS Excel
  • Experience with SAP and BPC
