Red Deer Polytechnic is looking for a Business Process Analyst to join the Institutional Planning team.
The Business Process Analyst (BPA) supports Red Deer Polytechnic's Strategic Plan through collaboration, operational excellence, and digital transformation by analyzing business processes, creating detailed documentation of required business outcomes, designing the optimum process techniques such as Lean Six Sigma, and integrating appropriate technology to streamline the process. The BPA will work collaboratively with institutional partners in a variety of Divisions and Schools. While largely project focused, this position will support the Polytechnic operating model and has ongoing operational technical responsibilities.
Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:Act as a lead for business projects or parts of larger programs using project management practices and tools
Manage project timelines, scope, and deliverables
Lead and manage requirement gathering initiatives and analysis working with Polytechnic stakeholders and the technical team
Analyze business requirements originating from RDP's strategy, business plans, and
internal/external clients and translate those requirements into business processes Adapt the results of business process analysis to specific functional requirements of automated solutions
Train and coordinate with business process owners and digital champions from various operational units within the Polytechnic to share best practices and collaborative technology solutions.
Use data to understand and resolve complex business challenges and provide timely insights.
Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools to design and document improved business processes.
Identify opportunities for business process and technology improvements.
Required Qualifications
2 year post-secondary training in Business Administration, Project Management or similar
Lean Six Sigma Training, Project Management Certification, or PROSCI training
Over 5 years in related work experience
Experience working in a similar role at a public or private organization
Experience in project management or coordination
Lean Six Sigma design experience
Experience in business process redesign and software implementation
Experience designing technology solutions in a team setting
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and ability to engage effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
4 year undergraduate degree in related program
