About the Role

Corus Audio has an exciting opportunity for a Business Manager, Regional based out of our Downtown Toronto office. Reporting to the Senior Regional Business Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for budgeting & forecasting OPEX, assisting with the full cycle financial statement close process, and leading a team of accountants and operations staff for 17 radio stations in the GTA and Southwestern Ontario, along with the completion of special projects as required.

You'll be working on things like:

  • Be an integral leader on the team to manage the financial & operational management of 17 radio stations, in the GTA and Southwestern Ontario
  • Review and prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets for 17 radio stations in collaboration with program directors and other members of management
  • Monitor, identify and communicate to management financial variances that require action and follow-up
  • Be the finance authorization on invoices, expense reports and other expenses for the stations
  • Manage, engage and develop a team of accountants and operations staff
  • Review and prepare journal entries and balances sheet reconciliations monthly, quarterly and annually by following accounting standards, principles and regulations
  • Review and prepare monthly/quarterly/annual management reports for local and senior management
  • Assist with auditor inquires and the preparation of annual CRTC returns
  • Manage multiple market Contra activity
If you have the following...we want to hear from you!
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting/Business Administration
  • Accounting designation considered an asset
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance and/or business operations, with experience in the media industry an asset
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Creative and analytical thinker, problem solver, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven management and leadership skills
  • Mature, effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Great Plains, Wide Orbit or Adaptive Planning an asset
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills, including Outlook and Word and advanced skills in Excel
  • A positive, energetic, friendly style enabling the successful candidate to deal with challenges in a professional manner
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment
  • Ability to manage multiple project and to prioritize effectively
  • Willingness to innovate, explore new ideas and acquire new skills
