Job Description

Intertek is searching for an Business Development Manager to join our Connected World team in our Ottawa, Ontario office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Sales!

As a Business Development Manager for the Intertek High Security Certification Group , you will be responsible for lead response (including RFPs), account management, and direct sales activity within the FIPS 140-X,Common Criteria , and DoDIN APL security certification industry. You will be responsible for promoting and selling Intertek's end-to-end certification solutions to companies across the spectrum from Fortune 100s to start-ups.

What you'll do:

  • Position Intertek's certification solutions across the product security certification industry concentrating on long-term, strategic clients through effective client research, prospecting and networking.
  • Meet with current and prospective customers via client presentations and participation at trade shows.
  • Meet sales quotas on a quarterly basis.
  • Draft and follow up on proposals through closing; ensure a superior customer experience for every client engagement .
  • Provide outstanding customer service and become a trusted partner
  • Assist with Business Development and Marketing activities
  • Prepare sales reports and forecasts, as required.
  • Perform other sales and marketing related duties as may be required.
What it takes to be successful in this role:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant academic field preferred.
  • 3+ years successful direct, B2B sales experience required.
  • Familiarity with product security certification is preferred.
  • Experience with the federal government technology vertical is an advantage
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of information technology and product development cycles a plus
  • Must be energized and self-motivated and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
