Are you process driven and able to look at data from all angles? We are currently seeking a Business Credit Analyst for our Business Banking team for our Real Estate Development business. Working closely with the Relationship Managers, this position helps grow the size and profitability of the commercial lending book while minimizing loan risk and maximizing product penetration. The position also delivers an exceptional member experience by providing timely, accurate, concise, and quality credit analysis and underwriting within sound risk management framework. What you?ll do:
  • Working closely with Relationship Managers to identify and gather all required information to prepare applications for credit.
  • Complete due diligence and investigation on the information.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data and project information.
  • Assess value of collateral.
  • Prepare credit applications, including annual reviews, and make recommendations for new loans, loan renewals and amendments within credit union guidelines and lending policy and procedures.
  • Provide creative and flexible solutions in structuring credit with appropriate supporting commentary.
  • Submit recommendations to the appropriate approval level.
  • Monitor projects being financed to ensure draw down stipulations and loan conditions are met.
  • Review each borrower at least annually, coordinating financial information requirements with BRM?s and Commercial Services Assistant.
  • Review reports for the portfolio to identify potential problems and contact member to resolve issues; develop action plan to ensure risk is minimized.
What you bring:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of people both internally and externally.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to anticipate, identify, analyze, and mitigate risks
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles and financial statements, including cash flow analysis
  • Knowledge of business lending policies, complex procedures, techniques, documentation requirements
  • Basic knowledge of loan realization
  • Excellent knowledge and comfort level with various computer software programs, i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel, banking systems, CRM
  • 3-5 years previous knowledge and experience in business banking, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience or;
  • 3-5 years? experience in a business banking position with relevant experience in real estate development & project financing.
