Business Consultant

Duration : 6 months

Location : Edmonton , AB

Job Responsibilities

Facilitate and document yearend consolidation and financial reporting plans and priorities, in alignment with yearend timelines and scheduled deliverables;

  • Document financial consolidation processes, accounting for process impacts in 1GX.
  • Facilitate stakeholder 1GX workshops, which include the provision of training to line areas involved in the yearend financial consolidation and reporting;
  • Coordinate the collection and dissemination of financial information into formats consistent with the requirements of public sector accounting standards and financial reporting practices;
  • Identify risks associated with critical financial reporting processes;
  • Prepare and present strategies to resolve year-end related issues, and assist with risk management and issues management;
  • Provide quality assurance services throughout the yearend financial reporting cycle, ensuring the completeness and consistency of yearend process documentation; and

Lead, facilitate and document strategic plans and priorities, aligning to Department vision; \xe2\x80\xa2 Identify projects to achieve this vision; \xe2\x80\xa2 Facilitate stakeholder workshops and focus groups; \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare and present strategies and information to steering committees and project groups; \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare and deliver presentations about initiatives or issues to executives and staff, steering committees, project groups and Service Alberta personnel and other stakeholders; \xe2\x80\xa2 Assist with risk management and issues management \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop and execute change management plans and communication plans \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop business cases through a consultative approach with business sponsors and key stakeholders, identifying benefits and performance measure indicators; \xe2\x80\xa2 Document initiative/project backgrounds, descriptions, environmental analyses, financial modeling, alternatives, impacts, risks, cost-benefit analyses, recommendations, implementation strategies, and approval processes; \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide quality assurance services throughout the business case development to ensure completeness and consistency of documentation, which could include content review; \xe2\x80\xa2 Identify risks associated with business cases
