Business Analyst (4 Month Contract)

Job Description

The Business Analyst will join the Data & Analytics (DNA) team within Finance. The Business Analyst will work alongside Technology teams and partner with the business to design, develop, implement, and scale data solutions that follow our data governance requirements (Data Classification, Data Retention, etc.).

You will work closely with our business and technology teams to support implementation of strategic objectives and where possible, you will also identify advanced methods to simplify and automate our solutions. You will develop and nurture strong relationships with key governance partners (including Cybersecurity, Risk, Privacy) and also those within a variety of different business units across our global portfolio, to elicit, analyze, document, communicate and manage detailed functional specifications

As a member this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising between business and technology teams to elicit, analyze, document and validate requirements for Data and Advanced Analytics products and solutions
  • Defining detailed solutions in the form of detailed technical specifications/approaches for Finance DNA products
  • Ensuring data governance controls such as classification, retention, and disposition are appropriately considered in our products and solutions
  • Providing hands-on support and technical expertise for product and solution implementation
  • Supporting user adoption via the development and delivery of training and enablement activities
  • Supporting Finance DNA's goal to remain on the leading edge of emerging data, analytics and AI technologies and techniques by identifying industry innovations and related data risk and compliance challenges
  • Document and Process Map all Analytics Products in Production
  • Document technical documents covering lineage , syntax and build SQL/DAX code repository
  • Support with Data Governance onboarding of Data Tables , Dashboards into Collibra and Knowledge Exchange (Kx)
  • Synchronize PowerBI Development , Test and Production Environments
  • Create Logical Diagrams of integrations into Corporate Finance Data Mart.
  • Build Data Dictionary / Catalogue of all assets currently in Data Mart or as Analytics Products
  • Content Management and access review of all Analytics Products in Production across Corporate Finance, Investment Finance , D&T and other Business Units
  • Provide standard templates for Change Management on Analytics products deployed in Production for appropriate backlog management
To succeed in this role, you have:
  • A degree in Computer Science, Data, Technology, or Engineering (or related experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience as a business systems analyst with an emphasis on the implementation of data analytics and governance solutions (e.g., Microsoft Information Protection, Records Retention Labeling/Policies in Microsoft 365, Collibra, Informatica, Power BI Dashboards, data warehouses)
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with business stakeholders to elicit and document requirement for complex data analytics and governance products
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) including experience gathering technical requirements and hands-on experience in these tools. Experience implementing Microsoft Information Protection and retention labels is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in modernizing data analytics and governance solutions via process engineering, automation, and other leading-edge approaches
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively articulate and communicate with both business and technical development teams
  • Independent and motivated working style with a passion for learning new things
  • A team player with a good understanding of the Agile methodology and Change Management best practices
