JLL is hiring a Building Operator for one of its key national accounts. This stand alone operator role will support the Processing Plant in Victoria and several smaller nearby facilities. As a general Building Operator, you bring experience in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all systems (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations).

This position is Monday-Friday and requires a driver\'s license and reliable vehicle to service the surrounding facilities. Mileage will be reimbursed for travel to other sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that work performed in client space is accomplished with a minimum of disruption and is followed by adequate cleanup
  • Perform maintenance, monitoring repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned
  • Maintains responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance and technical proficiency
  • Ensure the availability of an adequate operating inventory of tools and supplies and develop sources for stock materials related to maintaining the facility
  • Record readings and make adjustments where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment
  • Maintenance of the equipment will include cleaning, inspecting, calibrating and changing parts to maintain the HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels
  • Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplace
  • Review monthly client service request summaries to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems
  • Evaluate vendors and suppliers on a regular basis with regard to quality and competitive pricing
  • Prepare and submit purchase order requests
  • Verify the accuracy of deliveries for count, pricing, and description
  • Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory
  • Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors
  • Lead and/or assist with event setup/teardown activities including electrical, audio visual, coordinating with security or other tasks as needed
  • Successful completion of annual safety courses is required
  • Interactions with the client, vendors & JLL team members require courteous and professional behaviour at all times
  • Emergency & routine WO completion is required on a daily basis, in addition to daily/weekly/monthly/semi-annual/annual PM completion
  • Spreadsheet verification and completion, as well as performing a variety of inspections is required
  • Assisting vendors required, as needed
  • Intermittent leaf clean-up, snow clearing & daily recycling duties are required
  • Travel to surrounding CPC facilities as needed
  • Perform additional job duties as requested
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent and ideally two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration and HVAC
  • Valid driver\'s license and vehicle required
  • Ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
  • The individual in this role must be available for Call-in work and perform other duties as required.
Estimated compensation for this position is: 60,000.00 \xe2\x80\x93 65,000.00 CAD

Salary ranges are based on market data, which is reviewed annually and includes consideration of geographic location. An employment offer is based on an applicant\xe2\x80\x99s experience, education, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
