Job description:
We are looking for an experienced artisanal bread baker to join us in our small-town seaside bakery. We are open Wednesday-Saturday every week.
Ideal availability would be Tuesday-Saturday 4am-11am, but because we have other bread bakers on staff, the time, days and hours are very flexible. We are a seasonal bakery, usually closed from late December to around March 15th every year.
Hourly rate is negotiable based on experience/need for training. We have a busy cafe program using all our own breads, as well as retail bread sales. Opportunity for creative contribution. Raises and bonuses annually.
The ideal candidate must have experience with sourdough bread baking. Must be able to use stairs frequently and lift 30-50 lbs. Must be able to self-organize, be productive alone and collaborate well with others. The space is shared with the pastry program and the cafe program, so there is a lot of moving around. We are a tight knit group and we help each other out when we can. Must also be comfortable with keeping their space and equipment clean.
