Bookkeeper/administrative Assistant (maternity Leave Coverage)

Job Description

The Hinton Friendship Centre is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Part-Time Contract Bookkeeper/Assistant to cover a maternity leave. The chosen candidate will be expected to work in office along side the Finance Manager. This role will be responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing administrative support as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, proficiency in accounting software, a keen eye for accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in short periods of time. This position offers a flexible schedule and an opportunity to contribute to our organization's success while gaining valuable experience.

Duties:



Assist the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate financial records and preparing financial reports. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently. Handle invoicing, payments, and receipts in a timely manner. Perform bank statement and credit card reconciliations. Conduct periodic audits of financial data to identify discrepancies or errors. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to company policies and procedures. Provide administrative support to the Finance Manager, including filing, data entry, and correspondence as required. Prepare financial reports and summaries. Assist with payroll processing and tax documentation as needed. Maintain accurate and up to date financial records using accounting software (Sage 50). File and organize financial documents and records.

Qualifications:



Must have experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role. Proficiency in Sage50. Proficiency in Microsoft 365. Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Finance, Office Administration, or related field. Must provide a Criminal Record check.

Schedule:

Part Time (14-21 hours a week), 12-18 months maternity leave coverage

Wage:

$25-30 an hour
