SHIM & Associates LLP, a growing CPA firm specializing in Audit, Review, Compilation, Tax and Consulting services is seeking a
Bookkeeper | Office Administrator
to join our dynamic team. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who not only possesses the skills, knowledge and experience required but who also has a positive & professional attitude and the ability to work well with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will bring solid bookkeeping experience and flexibility in providing administrative support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Bookkeeping:
Perform day-to-day full cycle bookkeeping in QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, or Sage 50 for publicly listed clients;
Process payments via online banking (i.e. wire transfer, EFT, e-transfers, etc.);
Bi-weekly or Semi-monthly payroll;
Government reporting (GST/HST, PST, WCB & Source Deductions);
Annual preparation of T4, T5, and T101 Slips;
Bookkeeping support for Compilation engagements for private enterprise small business clients; and
Other projects as assigned.
Office Administrator:
Serve as the first point of contact at the front desk;
Maintain kitchen and snack room inventory;
Maintain office supplies and equipment;
Ensure that the office, boardroom, and reception areas are tidy, organized and welcoming;
Coordinate couriers via FedEx, local courier, or Canada Post Registered Mail;
Distribute and/or scanning of incoming and outgoing mail;
Placing office maintenance service requests with building management;
Assist with coordinating schedules, meetings, team lunches, and events; and
Other administrative duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of full cycle bookkeeping work experience in Canada;
Completion of a bookkeeping or accounting certificate; and
Must have proficient knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop & Online versions, and Sage 50.
Skills & Attributes:
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook, Word, and Excel);
Bookkeeping work experience in public practice or publicly listed company considered an asset;
Strong communication skills, written and verbal;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Good organization skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task;
High level of confidentiality and integrity; and
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
