Grizzly Excavating is currently seeking a motivated individual to assist us in the role of bookkeeper / office administrator. We are searching for someone who is friendly, fun, and detailed oriented to join our growing team.
Working closely with other office staff, the successful applicant will incorporate good accounting practices to administer the full range of day-to-day operation of a business while interacting with vendors and customers by phone, email and in person. The successful applicant must demonstrate a working knowledge of business accounting as well as possess excellent computer, phone, and in-person communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records and assist with account analysis.
Utilize accounting software such as Sage 100 for financial reporting and data entry.
AR entries into Sage100 Contractor accounting software.
Daily payroll time entries & generating bi-weekly payroll ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Reviewing and acting on government issued assessments, notices, and statements.
Annual preparation of T4's and ROE's as required.
Monthly preparation of financials.
Annual preparation of year-end financials for accountant.
Sharing administrative duties with other staff (answering phones, greeting customers, answering questions, etc.).
Strong data entry and word processing skills including a knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Manage daily office operations and administrative tasks to ensure efficiency.
Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.
Collaborate with team members to streamline office procedures and improve workflow.
Organize and maintain filing systems for both physical and electronic documents.
Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in accounting software (Sage) is essential.
Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and budgeting processes.
Understanding of payroll processing and tax regulations.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to analyze financial data effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience as an office clerk or in a similar administrative role is preferred.
