Bookkeeper (Restaurant Multi Unit / Home Based)
Unique Restaurant Group is looking for a talented individual to join our team as a bookkeeper. This is a newly created full-time role that reports to the owners and will manage all day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple locations across Hamilton and Burlington. The position will be home based and require regular travel to and from the restaurant locations.
Responsibilities
? Maintain general ledgers including recording of all transactions via QuickBooks
? Month end process including bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and preparation of financial statements
? Daily Reconciliation of Cash & Deposits
? Preparing, and processing bi-weekly payroll and monthly payroll remittances
? Verifying, processing, and recording vendor payments
? Cost accounting ? reconciling all purchases, facilitating inventory counts, cost of goods & inventory variance reporting
? Rebates ? calculating and invoicing of supplier rebates
? Processing expense reports
? Maintaining vendor pricing databases and completing vendor price comparisons
? Updating menu pricing across systems ? point of sale, delivery, takeout
? Maintaining and updating in house financial reporting system
? Administering health benefits program
? Liaising with external accountant as required
? Other recording and reporting of financial information as required
Required Skills & Experience
? Bookkeeping Certificate or Diploma, or Higher
? Minimum 5 years bookkeeping experience
? Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks
? Strong MS Excel skills
? Very comfortable with technology and learning new software and apps
? Experience in a multi-unit restaurant environment preferred
? Experience working with restaurant POS systems
? Ability to multi-task around critical accounting deadlines
? Strong attention to detail
? Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Compensation
? Salary: $50,000 to $70,000 per year -
