All board positions on this non-profit, charity are unpaid.

The Treasurer of the Board of Alumnae Theatre Company, with the assistance of a part-time book-keeper and part-time administrator, oversees the company\xe2\x80\x99s financial accounts advising in the accurate recording of all receipts and disbursements. She oversees the deposits and disbursement of funds, safekeeping of securities and investments. She prepares and monitors annual budgets and cash flows, provides financial reports to the board and the AGM, and supervises the financial review or audit with the auditor.

The Board meets online once monthly. The Treasurer will participate in the Legal/financial Sub-Committee of the Board which is likely to be offline, and be an executive officer of the board.

Alumnae Theatre Company, established in 1918 by women theatre artists seeking equity in the theatre is 99% volunteer run. We produce festivals, productions and workshops. We provide training in all aspects of theatre. With the support of 250 volunteers of all genders, we present over 80 of our own performances annually, managing the historically-designated former firehall at Parliament and King St in Toronto and renting our two theatres to nearly 20 other performing arts groups. All women with an interest in theatre are welcome to take leadership roles by becoming members.

Requirements:

- as a women-run organization, our bylaws allow only women to hold positions on the board of directors
- financial knowledge of, and experiene in, non-profit, charitable arts organizations in Canada, T4As, HST, grant accounting, year end submissions, audit preparations
- strong interest in the arts, preferably theatre
- well-versed in digital accounting packages (we use Xero, would consider switching to Quickbooks Pro)

- As a member, the treasurer has complimentary tickets to all of the Alumnae Theatre productions, discounts in training workshops, and is welcome to participate in all aspects of the theatre behind stage or audition for roles onstage.
