To learn more about OISC, visit our website: https:l/ottawasoccer.com/ We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and self-driven Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team and help manage our financial records, reporting to the General Manager and Board Treasurer. Responsibilities: Maintain accurate financial records for the club, including revenue, expenses, and other transactions Input all financial transaction data into QuickBooks system. Receive the bank statements and reconcile to the financial system. Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payments. Assist the GM in the preparation of annual budget. Manage accounts payable and receivable reporting, and assist with collection. Assist with payroll processing, including preparation of T4s for club staff. Prepare deposits to our bank. (Virtually) Prepare cheques for printing and/or club signatures. Maintain an electronic filing system for all processed invoices and receipts to support year end audit based on electronic records.
Provide auditor with year-end electronic files (and paper back-up documents where applicable which are to be maintained at the Club House)
Support year-end (September 30) audit including preparations and reconciliations led by Treasurer. Support in the development and drafting of club financial policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. \xe2\x80\xa2 Take direction from, identify issues to, and provide advice to the General Manager and Treasurer for day-t0-day bookkeeping issues, and improving club financial processes. Provide financial reports on an as required basis (e.g. quarterly financials showing actuals vs. budget). Work closely with the club\'s management team to provide financial insights and recommendations. Act with integrity, comply with relevant Ethics codes, and maintain confidentiality of all financial and personal information. Experience / Requirements: Experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Experience working with non-profit organizations or sports clubs is an asset. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and controls. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Good communication skills and ability to work well with a team. High level of integrity and professionalism. Working Hours: Part-time, flexible hours. Ranging from 20-60 hours per month at a rate of $25/hour, paid at the end of every month. Workload varies throughout the year. Major time requirement is between February to May, and September to November during year-end processing. Hours will vary but a combination of weekday, weekend, day and evenings will generally be acceptable to the OISC. Historical hours have been Monday and Thursday evening and Friday afternoons.
