Qualifications:
Essential:
Experience providing secretarial and/or administrative support such as: receiving/distributing mail, answering telephone inquiries, photocopying, maintaining office supplies, electronic and manual filing.
Experience drafting, formatting, editing and proofing various types of documents, such as correspondence, email, reports and memos.
Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines and work within tight timelines.
Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of staff and the general public, both in person and by phone.
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment with all levels of staff.
Experience working with highly sensitive and confidential information.
Excellent verbal communication skills in English and French.
Excellent written communication skills in English and French.
Duties:
Reporting to the Administrative Services Manager for supervision and workload management, the incumbent is responsible for providing receptionist, switchboard and office support services in a community office within Winnipeg Child and Family Services. These responsibilities include but are not limited to; answering telephone calls, responding to client questions, monitoring safety issues in family visiting rooms/meeting rooms, opening and distributing mail.
