Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world. : The Insurance Case Support Specialist is responsible for contributing to the Company’s individual life and health sales goals by providing product information and sales support to Sun Life Financial advisors. This position plays a key role in the acquisition and retention of individual life and health business using their knowledge of Sun Life’s products, the illustration tools, the competition and simple, personal concepts using insurance products. Role reports to Director, Insurance Sales Support. What will you do?

  • Respond to both phone queue and email questions about Sun Life’s individual life and health products for the SLFD channel
  • Assist SLFD Advisors with 1:1 case support and product illustrations including advanced knowledge of the product and simple insurance concepts using these products
  • Provide advanced life and health product training to advisors and managers via phone and email and conducting training webinars as needed
  • Assist the individual life and health product and marketing teams with the launch of new or enhanced initiatives by answering questions relating to these new initiatives.
  • Work with the Advanced Case Managers by completing special insurance quotes, casework and competitive analysis.
  • Supports regional team in growing sales through the development of relationships with targeted Advisors
  • Participate in Outbound contact campaigns designed to raise awareness of team and its ability to support Advisors in proactively identifying and driving insurance sales opportunities
What do you need to succeed?
  • Bilingualism (French, English) required- interactions with English-speaking customers or partners
  • 3-5 years experience in insurance sales or sales supporting role
  • University education preferably in finance
  • Previous experience as an Advisor or Advisor assistant
  • Working towards relevant industry designations (CFP, CLU)
  • Strong knowledge of life and health insurance products including concepts and strategies that support sales
  • Sound knowledge of insurance industry regulations and tax environment relative to insurance products and Sun Life in general.
  • Excellent customer service and sales focus
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing inquiries from phone and email and multi-task a variety of requests at one time
  • Flexibility and creativity to assist Advisors in arriving at solutions to meet their client’s needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a team
  • Strong Analytical and PC skills

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
