Position Overview

As the Beverage Manager at Amato Trattoria, you oversee the entire bar program and play a key leadership role in ensuring excellence in beverage execution, consistency, and hospitality. You bring extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and craft beer, combined with strong operational experience in inventory management, ordering, training, and team development.

Your focus is to elevate the beverage experience for our guests while supporting the bar team in delivering consistent, high-quality cocktails, wine service, and bar hospitality. This role requires a leader with strong product expertise, a passion for coaching, and the ability to drive innovation while maintaining the restaurant's standards and identity.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Bar Oversight

Oversee all daily bar operations, ensuring consistency in cocktails, wine service, and beverage presentation. Maintain high standards of product quality, cleanliness, efficiency, and organization behind the bar. Support floor management and collaborate with the leadership team.
Wine, Spirits & Beer Expertise

Maintain strong knowledge of wine especially Italian varietals, regions, and pairings. Provide ongoing wine and product training. Stay informed on local craft beer trends.
Training & Development

Train and mentor bartenders on cocktail execution, bar standards, and product knowledge. Support onboarding and growth of new bartenders. Provide real-time coaching during service.
Inventory, Ordering & Cost Control

Oversee bar inventory, ordering, and stock rotation. Maintain par levels and cost management. Ensure proper organization of storage and coolers.
Menu Development & Innovation

Assist in developing seasonal cocktails and beverage features. Review guest feedback and sales trends. Ensure all beverages align with Amato's Italian-inspired identity.
Guest Interaction & Hospitality

Engage with guests at the bar, offering guidance on wine selections and pairings. Support guest recovery with professionalism. Build relationships with regulars and beverage enthusiasts.
Community Awareness & Partnerships

Maintain awareness of local breweries, wineries, and beverage events. Identify potential collaborations and features.
Qualifications

Minimum 3 years bar management or bartending experience. Strong wine knowledge (Italian wine focus preferred). Strong spirits and craft beer knowledge. Leadership and coaching experience. Understanding of beverage inventory and cost controls. Serving It Right certification required.
