Maximum Potential is a new service provider for the Ottawa region. We are pleased to add enthusiastic individuals to our current team. All interventions are developed and supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA)/Behaviour Analysts with input from a Speech-Language Pathologist as part of the team.

Role Description
Our Behaviour Technician/Behaviour Therapy Assistants work closely with their BCBA/Behaviour Analyst supervisors to implement treatment plan goals. The behaviour technician creates a positive and engaging atmosphere where the client works to increase their skills and adaptive functioning so that they may reach their maximum potential.
Skills And Qualifications
Required - Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent; 18 years of age or hold a University undergraduate degree in a related field (psychology, child development, education, etc.)
Valid Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen
Valid drivers license and consistent access to a vehicle (willingness to drive to client homes)
Must have excellent oral and written English communication skills
Bilingual (French/English) (not required)

Key Accountabilities
1. Implementation of Client Treatment Plans
Responsible for implementing treatment plans provided by the BCBA to address skills such as language and communication, social and play skills, adaptive functioning, etc.
Use systematic methods and behavioural strategies to support clients in shaping their behaviour
Teach and reinforce a variety of skills for children and youth in a 1:1 and/or small group setting
Assist in conducting baseline measurements and other direct or indirect assessment measures as instructed by the Lead Therapist/BCaBA/BCBA
Understands the functions of behaviour and responds appropriately and safely when situations arise
Learn and apply the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
Adhere to all ABA training, procedures, and protocols
Responsible for creating a positive, compassionate, and engaging environment for each client
2. Data Collection and Administration
Responsible for tracking client progress through electronic data and graphing
Responsible for completing incident reports as per company policies
Prepares teaching materials and organises teaching environment
Maintains workspace organisation and cleanliness
3. Communication
Participates fully in client supervision sessions, department meetings, and company initiatives
Participates in direct clinical supervision meetings to present concerns and receive feedback, direction, and guidance
Maintains the confidentiality and security of client-related and company information at all times
Responsible for writing clear professional, objective, and accurate documentation for all activities
4. Training and Education
Participate in all onboarding and mandatory provincial and company training
Responsible for obtaining and maintaining Behaviour Technician training requirements under the supervision of a BCBA
Responsible for complying with the ethics and compliance code as outlined by the BACB
Pay
Hourly Position - $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
