Position Summary:

Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Behaviour Technician leads the therapeutic home team's implementation of client specific behaviour support and safety plans, while also maintaining the day-to-day health and well-being of our clients. This is a unique and key leadership role that works under the direction of the Program Supervisor to provide role modeling, training, clinical direction and facilitate skill development for the front line team as they master best practice in each domain of the BSP. The Behaviour Technician oversees the collection of data, ABC charts and supports the team in making adjustments to treatment approaches to ensure client success. The Behaviour Technician attends integrated case management meetings to present on client's needs, data and progress

Hours:

This is a full-time position with a 40-hour work week, Sunday-Thursday 7:00 am-3:00 pm.

Qualifications:



Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with complex mental health and behavioural challenges Ability to set strong boundaries and build appropriate rapport with individuals with ASD Clear, direct, and sensitive verbal and written communication skills Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License Current First Aid/CPR training (we will train those who require this) Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) or MANDT Training (we will train those who require this) Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record

Skills:



Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with challenging behavior, strategy development, advocacy, community networking, and life skills management. Good interpersonal relationship skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with community resources.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist Program Supervisor in maintaining client files. Support client intakes, transitions, and discharges in collaboration with the Clinical Manager and team. Conduct observations and collect necessary data. Lead the implementation of client behaviour support and safety plans. Monitor client programs and oversee data tracking. Present client progress at ICMs and school IEP meetings; provide updates to parents and professionals. Maintain client's visual schedules, create social stories, update PECS, and ensure team consistency. Communicate with the Clinical Manager and Program Supervisor to ensure behaviour support plans are implemented and updated regularly. Assist in preparing client progress reports. Attend safety planning meetings, program meetings, and staff meetings as required. Consult with the Clinical Manager regularly. Attend supervision meetings as requested. Drive and accompany individuals to various locations, including school, medical appointments, outings, etc. Ensures client's physical needs are met by assisting with basic personal hygiene. Provide and prepare nutritious meals, with close attention to individual needs, dietary restrictions/allergies, etc
