We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior AutoCAD Technician, based in British Columbia, to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with early experience in the glazing industry who is eager to grow, learn, and contribute to a wide range of residential and commercial projects.
Duties
Create shop drawings and technical documentation for window and glazing systems Review architectural drawings and shop drawings for conformity Support senior drafters with drafting standards, templates, and revisions Coordinate with project managers and installers Perform basic quantity takeoffs and material calculations Help troubleshoot design challenges under supervision Maintain drawing archives and revision logs Contribute to custom solutions for unique architectural requirements
Requirements
1-2 years of experience in the glazing industry (required) Proficiency in AutoCAD Understanding of aluminum window and door systems Familiarity with glazing details, building envelope concepts, or fenestration assemblies (asset but not required at expert level) Fluent spoken and written English is a must Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Good communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively with project teams Experience with 3D modeling software is an asset
Education
Diploma in Architectural Technology or related field (required)
Experience
AutoCAD: 1-2 years (required) Glazing industry experience: 1-2 years (required)
