We are presently recruiting for an Associate to join Management Analytics in the Finance department.

Management Analytics provides financial information and insights on performance, costs, and exposures. Our goal is to enable management decision-making (i.e., capital and resource allocations) at both the department and total Fund levels through the Finance Business Partners. The team is also responsible for supporting total Fund reporting deliverables and accompanying processes such as the Business Plan and Annual Report.

Within the Finance Business Partner team, the Associate will be in a key supporting role, providing input to reporting analytics for internal stakeholders and Senior Management across both Private Equity (PE) and Credit Investments (CI) departments. The Associate will additionally be responsible for conducting exploratory analysis and research related to PE and CI activities as well as creating reports, validating numbers, and providing analysis that delivers meaningful insights on performance, attribution, costs, and capital usage. The Associate will also coordinate and contribute to multiple projects.

Role-Specific Accountabilities:
  • Work in a team to produce exploratory total Fund and investment department analysis to communicate the \xe2\x80\x9cstory\xe2\x80\x9d behind the numbers to Senior Management
  • Develop compelling materials to facilitate discussions, including creatively conveying data and analysis with charts, tables, and other visuals in presentation materials
  • Support and work on new analytics initiatives to provide insightful recommendations to internal stakeholders and Senior Management
  • Develop and foster effective working relationships within the team and across groups at CPP Investments
  • Address ad-hoc business requests to facilitate Board discussions, support evaluations of investment strategies, and identify drivers of value-add
  • Develop into a subject matter expert on PE and CI\'s departments and private equity and credit markets in general, to support information and analytics needs across Finance and the Fund
  • Enhance data gathering procedures to automate data collection from disparate databases and improve processes as well as building effective analytics systems
Qualifications

If you possess the following, we\'d like to hear from you:
  • Completion or progress towards business or finance-related graduate degrees or professional designations considered to be assets (i.e., CPA, CFA, MBA, FRM, CIPM).
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in financial analysis within financial services, investment management, or consulting
  • Strong knowledge, understanding of or interest in private assets (throughout the investment and finance life cycle).
  • Business Analysis Skills preferred: Strong problem-solving, ability to think critically and creatively, and exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and work both independently and effectively as part of a team in a high-performing culture, under pressure and with time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to manage timelines effectively for smaller projects (~3 people), and coordinate review processes with efficient version control and delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience building compelling presentation decks
  • Proven experience in VBA, SQL, Python, Tableau and/or Power BI is considered an asset
  • Candidates must exemplify CPP Investment\'s guiding principles of high performance, integrity, and partnership
