We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. This role is essential in supporting store operations, managing staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. Responsibilities
Assist in daily store operations, including supervising staff and managing shift schedules
Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to ensure optimal product presentation
Handle customer inquiries with professionalism and provide exceptional customer service
Support sales management efforts through effective merchandising, pricing strategies, and promotional activities
Manage POS systems, cash handling procedures, and cashiering duties accurately
Participate in employee orientation, training & development initiatives, and performance evaluations
Assist in recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates and participating in onboarding processes
Maintain organizational standards by overseeing bookkeeping, payroll processing, and inventory control
Support marketing initiatives to promote store products and services
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations while fostering a positive team environment
Requirements
Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervising responsibilities
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and organizational abilities
Proficiency in negotiation, sales management, budgeting, and retail math
Experience with inventory management systems, POS technology, and cash handling procedures
Ability to perform administrative tasks such as bookkeeping, payroll processing, and purchasing
Bilingual or multilingual skills are preferred to serve diverse customer demographics effectively
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities through effective time management and organizational skills
Knowledge of marketing strategies, merchandising techniques, and store operations
Previous experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous
Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence and team collaboration
