Job Description

One of the Assistant Controller\'s tasks include supervising the accounting staff and reporting updates to the Controller. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Toronto, Ontario area. Key responsibilities

- Deliver regular account reconciliation to completion

- Lend a hand to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, regular assessment, and development

- Pinpoint and develop process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

- Facilitate the accounting team during the closing process to see to it that deadlines are met

- Other duties as requested

- Assist with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

- Well-developed preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

- Devise relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like key financial metrics, the monthly flash report, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

- Endorse implementation and confirm adherence to accounting policies and procedures

- Draw up numerous procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses

- Classify and develop Ad Hoc financial reports

- Backfill for Controller where appropriate

- Push accountability and the meeting of deliverables
- Certified Public Accounting license or exams in progress

- Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting

- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company

- Notable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

- In-depth knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

- Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Control

- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work

- Deep technical background in public accounting (GAAP)

- 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience
