Job Description

Our client in the hospitality industry seeks an interim Assistant Controller to support the team on a contract basis. This is a three-month opportunity best suited to a hands-on individual with strong accounting experience in the restaurant business.

Reporting directly to the Controller your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- preparation of financial statements and reviews, and distribution of information to stakeholders

- compliance with commodity tax requirements and filings

- manage the financial aspects of royalties, advertising funds and loyalty programs, including reconciliations

- provide guidance to the team

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you are a designated finance professional (CPA or equivalent), with a strong understanding of the restaurant franchise industry being essential to be successful in this position.

In addition, the following skills are desired:

- An eye for continuous process improvements

- Self starter that works well in a team

- Ability to work with large volumes of data and information

- Experience with reporting under ASPE

- Strong attention to detail

- Superior communication skills

- A high level of proficiency with EXCEL
