We need an active, energetic Bookkeeping Assistant to work alongside our Senior Bookkeeper, in a small (15 people) but growing healthcare equipment sales company in New Westminster or Richmond location. We sell and service wheelchairs, hospital beds and other healthcare equipment, for children and adults with disabilities.

Your role will be to assist us in recordkeeping and reporting, helping to identify and remediate transaction errors and issues, and providing requested management information. The assignment of tasks will be related to the training, experience and aptitude of the candidate.

Candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English, a citizen or possess a valid work permit, and current resident of Vancouver or the Lower Mainland of BC.

GENERAL DUTIES



Assist in daily financial operations

Ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.

Data entry into accounting software

SPECIFIC DUTIES



Some of the following duties will be assigned, as needed:



Accounts payable / account receivable

Verification and remediation of transaction issues

Reconciliation for credit cards, bank accounts

Payroll processing

Remittances for GST, payroll

Monthly and year end closing

Management reports and information requests

Assistance with design and implementation of new database

Other related duties as needed.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS



Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields is desirable

2 years bookkeeping/accounting experience preferred

Familiarity with full cycle of accounting

Skillful numeracy and careful attention to detail and accuracy

MS Word, Excel expertise, and efficient keyboard skills

Multitasking, organizational ability

Working independently as well as with sales and other staff

Willing to learn about medical equipment business

Commitment to ethical and confidential conduct and practise

Compassion for individuals and families with disabilities

REMUNERATION:



$45k to 60k to start, depending on skills, education and experience

Health Plan after three months

Full-time, Monday to Friday, daytime only
