We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented full time Assistant Bookkeeper to maintain a complete set of books for our three locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day accounting using our custom software system and will play a vital role in supporting our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:



Prepare & record monthly general ledger entries Perform monthly account reconciliations Assist with preparation and filing government remittances (HST, payroll taxes, etc.) Assist with generating monthly financial statements and reports for internal use Assist with preparation of year-end reconciliations for external accountants Process payroll, ensuring compliance with employment standards and accurate vacation tracking for approx. 80 employees Administration of the Employee Benefit Plan Assist with calculating and processing employee commissions Process online bill payments and ensure proper documentation and authorization Assist with screening resumes and scheduling interviews Prepare hire packages Booking travel arrangements Maintain organized filing system and perform other administration tasks as needed Assist with additional business initiatives to support overall company goals Provide support to Front Office Reception and Sales as needed

Qualifications:



Proven

experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role Proficient in general accounting principles and financial reporting

Solid knowledge

of payroll processing, commissions, vacation and statutory rules

High level of accuracy

, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach Experience in a retail environment is an asset
