Seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records and processing transactions for a variety of organizations.
Responsibilities
Record accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Perform account reconciliations.
Payroll processing in compliance with Canadian payroll practices.
File common CRA remittances such as HST and payroll.
Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Sage, to manage financial transactions and reporting.
Maintain organized digital and hardcopy files for easy access and reference.
Maintain communication with supervisor on progress of files.
Qualifications
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Sage accounting software is required.
Excellent knowledge of Excel is necessary.
Familiar with CRA filing processes such as HST and payroll remittances.
Experience with account analysis, account reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Basic understanding of payroll procedures is a plus.
Previous experience as a clerk or in a similar bookkeeping role is desirable.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and clients.
T1 and T2 income tax filing knowledge an asset.
