We are a bustling cafe/bakery with a long history and delicious menu offerings. Under new management and ownership we are excited to be building on a strong team and are seeking a dedicated Assistant Baker to join our team. This role involves early mornings and training under our Head Baker with 20+ years of experience.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and bake bagels, bannock, desserts, and all other baked items
Prepare fried bannock Friday mornings
Establish and maintain consistent food quality at a high standard
Create and document new recipes and follow existing recipes consistently
Clean and sanitise general kitchen, floors, preparation and food storage areas
Wash floor, remove garbage and clean all baking pans throughout and at end of day
Requirements:
Previous experience in a cafe or food service environment is preferred.
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
Friday and Saturday morning availability required
Flexibility to work various shifts in addition to a regular Friday and Saturday shifts
