We currently have openings for an abatement technician/water damage specialist. We are an established and growing abatement contractor based in Abbotsford and work everywhere in the lower mainland, from the North shore to Hope. We provide emergency restoration, abatement, demolition, and reconstruction services to the insurance industry, residential, commercial, and industrial customers. As an abatement/water tech worker, you will be working with a team on abatement, remediation, and restoration projects to ensure the goals and needs of our customers are being met. The Abatement Technician can implement procedures consistent with WorkSafe, health and safety, and other applicable industry standards under the direction of a Lead Hand. You will be responsible for setting up contamination and decontamination chambers for moderate to high-risk work. Responsible for the removal of asbestos or mold containing materials from ceilings, walls, floors, and other structures.

When not busy with abatement work you will help with emergency restoration work to lend your hand to that team. The job of a Water Damage Technician can be very physically demanding, you will be required to endure standing, lifting, bending, and carrying heavier items as you mitigate water claims. This position will require a rotational on-call shift which demands consistent attendance and punctuality. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 6 months of experience in the restoration industry; however, we are willing to train if you have other relatable skills or assets and are hard working.

This position offers room to grow within a dynamic company, a great team to work with and an opportunity to be trained for more. The starting wage is $25hr, dependent on skill set and experience.

Looking for:

- Moderate or high-risk certification is an asset, but willing to train the right candidate
- Physically fit
- Ability to work after-hours on an on-call schedule (evenings and weekends)
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Knowledgeable in the construction or restoration field is an asset
- Self-starter who works well independently or as a team
- Adaptable and calm under pressure

*A criminal record check and a driver's abstract is a must

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
