Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Architectural Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in architectural drafting and design, with proficiency in various software tools. This role involves collaborating with architects and engineers to create detailed drawings and plans for residential and commercial construction projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities



Prepare detailed architectural drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software. Collaborate with project manager to develop project specifications and timelines. Utilize SketchUp or similar software for 3D modeling and visualization of projects. Review blueprints and schematics to ensure accuracy and completeness of designs. Prepare permit drawings and documentation for submission to municipalities and developers, ensuring compliance with the Alberta Building Code Maintain organized project files and documentation for easy access by team members. Revise and update models to reflect design updates, structural adjustments, municipal code requirements, and custom client requests. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to address questions or concerns regarding designs.

Requirements



Proficiency in architectural design software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator). Strong drafting skills with the ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Understanding of the Alberta Building Code and residential construction processes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems effectively. Knowledge of residential and commercial construction processes is essential. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy is essential for this role. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills for clear interaction with team members and clients. Create new marketing materials for residential house models, including floor plans and 3D rendering views. Monitor changes in building codes and regulations and update documentation practices as needed to remain compliant. Leadership qualities that foster teamwork within a collaborative environment.
