How will you contribute?





Reporting to the Manager, Accommodations Services, the Architectural Officer (Architectural Technologist) is accountable for providing facilities management services in the form of CAD drawings for Senate office accommodations, floor plans and related space allocation information products, to support the needs of Senators and the Senate Administration. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the management of the architectural (AutoCAD) plans/drawings archives, updating AutoCAD plans, and architectural reports for the team. There is also a responsibility for delivering interior design services to support Senate clients' needs for plans and conceptual layouts of office facilities and furnishings.



As part of the Tenant Services Team, the Architectural Officer will ensure that the different aspects of project delivery, clients or tenant are met on schedule and in accordance with the requirements of clients and Senate Standards.

Prerequisites




Post-secondary degree in architectural technology or interior design, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience; Two years' experience in creating computer-assisted office design drawings using AutoCAD, and in managing and maintaining database information and records while interpreting specifications, anticipating problems, identifying errors, omissions, and flaws on design plans; Knowledge of Adobe Products is an added asset such as Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator; Knowledge in the field of architectural technology, including drafting techniques; Knowledge of the methods and techniques in the use of computer-aided facility management applications such as AutoCAD; Knowledge of the theories and principles of facilities management, interior design, accommodation and space planning; Knowledge of the principles in linking interior design and aesthetics in regard to materials, surface finishes, furnishings and construction methods; Knowledge of the methods, techniques and approaches for drafting project plans, developing cost estimates, and preparing work specifications and tender documentation; Knowledge of information management practices and procedures when using automated systems and software.
