The Architectural Technologist is responsible for assisting in the production of working and contract drawings for the construction of new homes.

Here's how you'll contribute





Coordinates with the Architectural consultant to produce working drawings to meet project schedule and timelines. Prepares foundation and block plans for the Sales team. Prepares lot-specific grading plans for permit and construction. Coordinates truss, floor, mechanical, and structural engineering drawings. Liaise with the Construction team and Trade Partners for questions on drawings and resolve on-site construction issues as they arise. Conducts periodic site reviews for conformity to plans, applicable codes, and Minto standards, in coordination with Construction and Warranty teams. Produce and maintain specifications and working drawings in AutoCAD / Revit. Assists in the detailed design process and coordinates with Product Development. Stays up to date on building techniques, building code, and regulations to ensure compliance and advance building performance. Collaborates with internal stakeholders (Product Development, Design Centre, Estimating, Land Development, Construction, and Warranty) to address recurring issues with the focus on continuous improvement and reduction of on-site rework. Coordinate with Land Development during the engineering design phase to test model restrictions, review master grading plans to limit the impact of riser conditions, and maximize efficiency of land use. Reviews and tests model restrictions prior to releasing lots and blocks for sale. Prepares lot-specific working drawings that incorporate Design Centre selections for construction as required and requested. Other duties that are within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management.

Technical Competencies:



Knowledge of Ontario Building Code (OBC) and National Building Code (NBC) Experience with residential low-rise and medium-density wood frame construction Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit; familiarity with Bluebeam Revu BCIN and Small Buildings certifications are considered assets

Education:



College Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent relevant experience

Experience:



Minimum five (5) years of architectural experience

Skills & Abilities:



Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook) Knowledge of advanced building performance techniques and detailing Innovative and solutions-oriented thinker Detail-oriented with strong time management and a commitment to continuous improvement Strong communication skills across listening, verbal, visual, and written formats Adaptable to shifting workloads and priorities
