Pay:

$65,000 annually (Salaried, paid bi-weekly)

Calgary, Alberta (Remote - Must reside locally)

About the Role



We're looking for a

skilled Architectural Drafter

with at least

3 years of professional experience

in architectural drafting and design ideally with exposure to both

residential new construction

and

light commercial projects

.

This position is

primarily remote (work-from-home)

but requires

residence within Calgary

, as the role will involve:

On-site client meetings Project coordination visits Consultations with city planning and building departments
You'll collaborate closely with our builder and project management teams, creating high-quality construction drawings and ensuring all designs meet local codes, zoning, and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities



Prepare detailed architectural drawings and 3D models for residential and small commercial projects. Review and modify plans based on client feedback and municipal requirements. Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure design accuracy. Participate in

client-facing meetings

to discuss design intent, proposals, and revisions. Communicate with city departments for permit drawings and code compliance. Manage project files, revisions, and deliverables efficiently in a remote environment. Contribute to developing internal drafting standards and templates for the new division. Support business growth by providing innovative ideas and professional insight.

Qualifications



Minimum 3 years

of architectural drafting/design experience in a professional firm (residential & commercial). Proficient in

AutoCAD

,

Revit

,

SketchUp

, and related drafting/design software. Strong understanding of

Alberta Building Code

and

City of Calgary permitting requirements

. Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or related field. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable working independently. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (

Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

). Must reside in

Calgary, Alberta

(remote but local role).

Preferred Assets



Experience preparing permit and construction drawings for

new residential builds

. Familiarity with

light commercial tenant improvements or small business projects

. Experience engaging with clients and presenting design proposals. Desire to take on leadership or management responsibilities in the future.
