Originally launched in Japan through Suntory Holdings' venture program, Mokable was born from the idea of reducing coffee grind waste and unlocking coffee's full potential. We transform whole specialty coffee beans into an ultra-fine powder and craft it into a melt-in-the-mouth format that looks like chocolate, tastes like coffee, and preserves 100% of the bean's natural oils, acids, and aromas.
Following our successful North American launch, we're expanding into hospitality, retail, and manufacturing channels across Canada. To support this growth, we're looking for a detail-oriented
Book Keeper (Part-Time)
to keep our financial records organized and accurate as we continue to scale.
The Role: Book Keeper (Part-Time)
We're looking for someone who loves keeping things in order, someone who finds satisfaction in tidy spreadsheets, accurate reconciliations, and everything balancing just right. You'll be an essential part of our small but growing team, helping to keep Mokable running smoothly behind the scenes.
If you enjoy working independently, take pride in precision, and love seeing how the numbers tell the story of a business, this could be a great fit. You'll help us stay on top of our books, manage payroll, and keep everything ready for our accountant and year-end filings.
Key Responsibilities
Record and categorize transactions in
QuickBooks Online
(or similar software)
Reconcile
bank, credit card, and payment processor
accounts monthly
Track and organize
supplier invoices, bills, and receipts
Maintain accurate
expense and revenue records
across all sales channels (Shopify, wholesale, etc.)
Prepare and organize information for
HST filing
(handled by accountant)
Assist with payroll processing
using QuickBooks or Wagepoint -- including CRA remittances and recordkeeping
Maintain clean and well-labeled
digital financial files
for easy reference
Support
inventory and cost tracking
(recording purchases, production, and imports)
Provide simple monthly summaries (expenses, cash flow snapshot, key insights)
Collaborate with accountant to ensure smooth quarterly and year-end reporting
What We're Looking For
2+ years of bookkeeping experience (preferably with small business or product-based companies)
Proficiency in
QuickBooks Online
,
Excel/Google Sheets
, and
Google Workspace
Experience with
payroll systems
(QuickBooks Payroll, Wagepoint, or similar)
Understanding of
HST/GST tracking
and basic accounting principles
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Based in Canada (Toronto area preferred but remote considered)
Interest in coffee, food, or CPG industry is a plus!
What We Offer

$25-$35/hour
