IT Support Technician (Kiosks o Robots o Events) -- Part-Time / Contract -- Toronto, ON

BM3 Suite

software for events, retail, and venues. We're hiring a

hands-on Part-Time / Contract IT Support Technician

to help prep, deploy, and support devices--often for evening/weekend events.

Role Type:

Part-Time or Contract (project-based). On-site in Toronto with local travel to venues.

What you'll do

Deploy & support

kiosks/robots at events: unbox, cable, mount, test, and takedown.

Image & lock down

devices: Linux/Windows/Android kiosk mode, auto-launch, auto-recover.

Load content & configs:

set playlists, URLs, app settings, and device names.

Touch & peripherals:

install/verify touch drivers, test printers/scanners/sensors/cameras.

Networking basics:

set up LTE routers/hotspots, Wi-Fi, SSIDs, and run speed/latency tests.

QA checklists:

run pre-flight tests, capture photos, and collect client sign-offs.

Triage issues:

remote/onsite support; log fixes and update simple SOPs.

Inventory help:

label gear, track spares/RMAs, keep kits event-ready.

You'll be great at this if you have

1-3 years

in IT support, field tech, AV/retail install, help desk, or strong

self-taught

skills. Comfort with

Linux or Windows

(kiosk mode, startup apps) and

Android

(managed launchers/app pinning). Basic networking (DHCP/DNS, Wi-Fi setup, LTE hotspots). Clear, professional communication with clients and teammates. Ability to

lift/roll flight cases

and work some

evenings/weekends

.

Nice to have (not required):

Bash/PowerShell basics, Zoho CRM exposure, Ubiquiti/MikroTik, Intune/JAMF/Android Enterprise, PCAP touch experience.

Schedule & travel

Part-time hours with

event spikes

(evenings/weekends). Toronto on-site; local venue travel (GTA). Valid driver's license is an asset.
Compensation

Hourly +

Bonuses Contract project rates also considered based on scope.
