About this team

This role is on Retail Services and Devops team in the lululemon technology organization. This team is responsible for creating api\' s and backend integration following microservices architecture principles on AWS cloud infrastructure stack. This Solution Architect position is a highly technical role with accountability for architecture scoped to business-transformative projects on AWS infrastructure and is involved with projects from inception through implementation driving infrastructure solutions on AWS stack.

A day in the life:

As a cloud solution architect, you will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Project Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition, Design and Development and creating cloud centric architecture designs and solutions for building and maintaining cost-efficient, scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments. The Architect partners with delivery teams to design, and build flexible, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure and services that can more easily adapt to ongoing and future business needs.

  • Provides thought leadership across multiple teams to ensure that systems and services are designed, and operating to achieve optimal levels of performance, reliability, and sustainability on the cloud
  • Leads the cloud architecture and strategy for solutions in a manner consistent with lululemon Technology\'s enterprise architecture, applying common frameworks and re-usable components
  • Contributes to architectural design and make sure that best practices for multi-account strategies, cost management strategies, and cloud network connectivity are taken into consideration
  • Demonstrates proficiency and experience with concepts and technologies used in software development, operations, security, cloud, microservices, containers, and scheduling platforms
  • Provides architecture design and solutions for managing cloud security, including enforcement of security policies
  • Supports in the implementation (development and configuration) of the cloud infrastructure
  • Develops and maintains current and future-state architecture models related to cloud infrastructure and ensures all documentation is kept up to date
  • Assist the estimation of dev and QA efforts ensuring proper understanding of implementation scope, as well as adherence to best practices and methodical delivery
  • Work directly with Business Analysts to define and refine technical requirements for future work
  • Participate in technology reviews and conduct as-built audit + documentation, and work with ops readiness teams to design system continuity and support.
  • Stays abreast of industry best practices on cloud, technologies, architectures, trends, emerging technologies and develop Proof-Of-Concept projects to validate same
  • Drive common vision, practices, and capabilities across teams
  • Demonstrates ability to coach team members around best practices for delivering performant and scalable solutions
  • Conduct research to aid in product development and tools selection
Qualifications:
  • Completed Bachelor\'s degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Software Architecture preferred; candidates with substantial and relevant industry experience are also eligible
  • Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed and secure multi-region cloud-based systems with relevant experience in Security, Automation, Orchestration
  • Good understanding of DevOps and/or SRE practices along with advance knowledge of CI/CD principles and best-practices
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work quickly with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space which are security focused
  • Experience with applying infrastructure to structured Enterprise Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premises-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps; ability to author, evangelize and educate
  • Experience working with AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Control Tower, Step Functions, Cloud Formation, SSM, Service Catalogs, Config, Code Pipeline for AWS
  • Skilled with API usage, command line interface and SDKs for automating cloud operations
  • Proficiency in software development in at least one of these languages - Java, Go or Python, Bash, or Shell scripting.
  • 2 years\' experience with DevSecOps tools and processes to include, but not limited to Gitlab, JFrog Artifactory, SonarQube, Terraform, Jenkins, Hashicorp Vault, Kubernetes etc,
  • Ability to guide engineers with proper tracing, metrics, logging, monitoring and alert requirements and design.
  • Experience with observability products (such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)
  • Design traffic routing, service discovery, secrets, and access control solutions

Compensation and Benefits Package

For Washington Applicants: lululemon\'s compensation offerings are rooted in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position in Washington is from $107,400-$141,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our competitive Total Rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
