TECHNOLOGIST / INTERN ARCHITECT / ARCHITECT Opportunity RGAL is a local and Indigenous-owned firm of 4-6 team members with a flexible work environment and our Architectural team is looking for a key team member that has experience in commercial and institutional design and planning with various project types, scales and complexity. Your role as a contributor on our Architecture team is to work independently and collaboratively to assist the principal architect and clients through the planning and creation of solution-oriented designs. Key Responsibilities

  • Strong design and technical skills with ability to communicate effectively with project teams and consultants.
  • Work collaboratively to assist in design efforts on projects of a variety of scales.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of creative thinking with ability to effectively communicate ideas verbally and graphically. Conceptualizes a building design from both a functional and aesthetic perspective in concert with a client\xe2\x80\x99s requirements, budget and functional program.
  • Participates in development of functional programs and other pre-design and planning efforts.
  • Implement work throughout all phases of project.
  • Implements sustainable design principles into the design and environment with land-based values and principles.
  • Document new construction, as well as complex renovations and additions.
  • Responsible for managing complex building construction drawings and detail for medium to large projects.
  • Understand and coordinate project specifications.
  • Conduct materials and building systems research.
  • Coordinate with consultant teams including civil, structural, mechanical and electrical; including specialty consultants to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
  • Help develop presentations using physical and digital tools adhering to project budget parameters.

  • To lead one or more teams on medium size projects through the development of design concept.
  • To check work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage team to meet project budget and schedule.
  • To interpret sketches, drawings, codes, building program and other similar material.
  • To apply general knowledge of building construction systems, accessibility codes, applicable building codes, and life-safety codes to a wide variety of project scopes and complexity.
  • Requires effective skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUP.
Education and Experience Technical Diploma OR Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Architecture or related field & Minimum of 3-8 years of experience. Consideration will be given to applicants with Architectural Technology Diploma with minimum 3-8 years of experience. Typical office environment working with computers. Remote and hybrid working arrangements may be considered. Some travel and work outside of regular business hours may be required. May occasionally visit construction sites and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions. Parking included with employment and there is a daycare facility in the building.
