ARCHER CRM is now hiring

Archaeologists

for a variety of projects in northeast BC. We are looking for applicants who are professionally driven and eager to continue to develop and expand their experience in BC Archaeology. Applicants will be based out of our Fort St John office location. This position requires a willingness and ability to travel, work 10 day camp rotations, through the winter months. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for field experience in new areas and environments, broaden their archaeological CRM skillset, and are up for a winter field adventure!

Archaeologist



Primary Responsibility

- to assist Archaeological Field Directors and Project Lead Archaeologists in conducting archaeological field work, including but not limited to:

Active participation in archaeological field assessments; Adhering to ARCHER CRM Corp's OH&S and Quality Assurance programs; Acquiring field experience and knowledge from senior staff with the intention of taking on further responsibilities within the organization; Upon demonstrated ability, assist Field Director(s) and Supervising Archaeologists with any/all fieldwork tasks and responsibilities; Opportunities to develop supervising skills; May involve travel to other ARCHER CRM offices and job sites.

Preference given to those with the following skills/experience:



Demonstrated ability to take effective field notes; Demonstrated ability to navigate;

A minimum of one (1) year's Field experience

(field school, co-op term, field assistant, CRM experience); Previous experience in a supervisory role is considered an asset; Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and in a team environment; Basic understanding of lithic technology and mapping techniques; Safe operation of 4X4 vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and UTVs; Experience working in winter field conditions considered an asset; Awareness of applicable government regulations.

Requirements:



Valid Class 5 Drivers License and experience driving in winter conditions; Ability to independently travel to and from the worksite location daily; Canadian Citizen, or legally eligible to work in Canada; Ability and availability to work away from home office at remote job sites and offices for up to 10 days at a time; Undergraduate degree (B.A. or B.Sc. in Archaeology and/or Anthropology is required,

Must have a minimum of 260 working days of experience in Archaeological field work;

Preferred Certifications:

First Aid Level 1; ATV Rider Safety & Snow Pro; Wildlife Awareness.

Pay: $29.00-$34.00 per hour
