Advanced Upstream is looking for an Applications Engineer to join our team in our Calgary office.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Applications Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and administrative assistance to the Technical Services Group. A successful candidate will deliver flawless execution through involvement in pre-planning, job execution, and post-job analysis. This position works seamlessly together with the Service Delivery Manager other Technical Services Engineers and with other resources across organizational boundaries to ensure all aspects and constraints of the applications are understood and have been considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the gathering of technical data on projects, analyzing that data, and preparing reports to summarize project details
  • Assist in product design roll outs
  • Perform engineering calculations and estimates for projects
  • Write detailed commercial and technical proposals for project quotations
  • This role will involve promptly addressing all technical questions, collaborating with customers to develop solutions for their needs
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and effectively respond to operational performance, including field visits.
  • Interact with AU Production and Engineering groups to ensure best practices and shared experiences with regards to product applications, installations, product performance, processes and customer interactions.
  • Communicate opportunities for new products, testing, and services based on client needs for an expanded operating envelope.
  • Participate and uphold all HSE policies and procedures of AU and as well as any specific customer requirements
  • Assist in the implementation of corrective/preventive actions
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience in the role of Applications Engineer
  • 5+ years of downhole completions experience
  • Stimulation design experience
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a good record (abstract to be provided)
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations as it applies to customer requirements
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively to solve unique problems
  • Work with other team members and organizational groups and exhibit effective communication
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • High level of commitment & strong work ethic
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, manage priorities and execute tasks efficiently
  • Technical support will provide significant completion tools expertise and may also be required to train others
  • Ability to handle stressful and high pace situations
  • Ability to travel US and International
  • Must have Canadian work permit
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites
