Purpose:

The Analyst will support a team of Program Managers who focus on delivering on key business and strategic initiatives.

Scotiabank, Global Banking & Markets (GBM) provides a full range of credit, risk management and investment banking products and services related to the financing and investment needs of our clients. Our products include investment banking, derivatives, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, debt products, foreign exchange, and commodities.

Global regulatory reform is a key driver of change in banking and capital markets with far-reaching implications on business now and in the future. In response to this dynamic environment, Regulatory and Business Initiatives (RBI) was established to lead the business response to regulatory and non-regulatory initiatives and leverage these initiatives to drive strategic change.

What You\'ll Do:

  • Assist with establishing and enforcing a new initiatives intake process.
  • Assist with the creation and completion of kick-off artifacts such as Business Case, Charter, Governance etc. for new programs.
  • Ensure adequate recordkeeping of key artifacts in accordance with Bank\'s Delivery Framework for ongoing projects.
  • Provide a high level of professional service to internal and external stakeholders, consistent with RBI\'s role as a center of excellence for Scotiabank.
  • Generate comprehensive management metrics such as budget summaries, task completion, initiative summaries etc. for decision making purposes.
  • Assist with the creation of presentation decks and other materials for management meetings such as Steering Committees and other executive committees.
  • Consolidate and prepare dashboards inclusive of all business initiatives for weekly team reviews.
  • Continue to acquire and enhance knowledge of business strategies and policies, processes, and changing technology to effectively assist in the provision of business solutions.
  • Other ad-hoc projects for supporting operational demands as assigned.
What You\'ll Bring:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree in business, or related field (e.g., Accounting, Finance)
  • Minimum 0 - 3 years in the financial industry or similar environment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large quantities of data, research and organize results.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to execute on deliverables.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to collaboratively work in a team environment under tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate to Advanced user capabilities in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills required to work on multiple competing priorities.
The following skills would be an asset:
  • Capital market products knowledge.
  • Project Coordination and/or Management experience with familiarity with creation of business case and management of budget
  • Project Management or Business Analysis designation (e.g., PMP, CBAP)
Work Arrangement:

This position is currently a Hybrid role, with the expectation that you will work two days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
