Role:

The focus of this role is to produce insights on current state data health to recommend data standards and rules required to monitor critical data. As well work with cross functional team to gather business metadata and data quality metrics requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop KPIs for data quality and conduct data governance maturity assessments.
  • Design and develop appropriate data quality solutions such as data profiling discovery, data rules development, and root cause analysis.
  • To provide insights on the current state of data health to recommend data standards and rules required to monitor critical data.
  • Provide proactive data quality recommendations to prevent issues from arising.
  • Collaborate with category manager/data steward, business, and technical stakeholders to assess, root cause, and drive resolution of critical data quality issues as needed.
  • Work with various SME to gather business metadata and data quality metrics requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create a data quality maintenance process.
  • Work with our various data query tools and databases to extract data and perform analysis to understand current data quality trends.
  • Design and develop data quality dashboards in both Tableau and Excel
  • Design and develop data glossaries, standards, and policies.
  • Manage and maintain metadata repositories in Alation.
  • Champion the value of key data elements, data ownership, and the importance of metadata management to key business stakeholders.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to flag consent-related, sensitive, and critical data elements.
  • Understand the data and make recommendations throughout project design and implementation to ensure data integrity.
  • Develop, maintain, and automate data reports using reporting tools (such as IBM Cognos, SQL, Tableau, and Excel & Visual Basic).
  • Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco’s Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
  • Assist Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Sysco’s Food Safety Program that leads to compliance with third party certification and customer requirements.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
  • A minimum of three (3+) years of job-related experience in Data Governance/Master Data Management is required.
  • Professional experience working with Tableau is required.
  • Experience with working with Metadata management in a structured platform such as Alation or unstructured as SharePoint.
  • Experience with data governance design, documentation, and implementation.
  • Experience working with designing data relationship diagrams and business data or process models.
  • Work experience on Data Governance projects is an asset.
  • College diploma in business or technology.
  • Proficient in Tableau, Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel (Expert level), and Outlook as well as Cognos, AS400, and Internet applications.
  • Exposure to Informatica Data quality (or any other data quality tool) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of best practices metadata and data quality initiatives, policy, and techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in forms of emails, conference call and Teams and In Person meetings
  • Must be extremely detailed and deadline-oriented, a fast learner, and can handle multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to work with large amounts of data and perform data cleansing
